Hot tubs in Andratx and Port d'Andratx
The houses around Port d'Andratx, La Mola and Cala Llamp are stacked up the hillsides with the road above and the terraces below, and almost nothing arrives at them without a crane. We plan that lift as part of the quote rather than treating it as an extra.
Delivery notes for Andratx & Port d'Andratx
Lanes on La Mola and above Cala Llamp are steep, single track and bend sharply, so the delivery lorry often has to stop higher up and the spa comes down by crane from the road to the terrace, sometimes 20 m or more. That is a large-crane job at 900 to 1,500 euros and we need to visit first to measure the reach and find a place for the outriggers. Andratx town and S'Arracó are easier; townhouses there have patios reachable over a single-storey roof with a small crane.
Built on the hill
Nowhere else in Mallorca is a site visit more important. The difference between a 15 m lift and a 25 m lift is several hundred euros and a different machine, and the only way to know is to stand on the terrace with a laser measure. We do that visit before quoting, and the number we give you is the number you pay.
Models for terraces with a view
Terraces in Port d'Andratx are often long and shallow, cut into the slope, and the spa has to share them with the view. The Serra 3 at 210 by 160 cm fits where a square 5-seater will not, and it is the model we fit most here. Larger houses in Camp de Mar and on the Cala Moragues side take the Serra 5 or the Mar 5, and we have had enquiries for a swim spa on a cantilevered terrace that we turned down after the engineer looked at it. Weight comes first.
Salt air
These terraces face the open sea and the Dragonera channel, and salt reaches everything. We specify stainless fixings, the UV-stable cabinet and a cover lifter, and we ask you to rinse the cabinet with fresh water now and then. Covers on the front line need replacing sooner than inland, which is worth knowing before you buy.
Wind
Port d'Andratx gets strong westerlies in autumn and winter. A cover left unclipped will go over the edge. Every spa here leaves with the cover straps fitted and tested, and on exposed terraces we add a second pair.
Water and power
Mains water in the port is hard and some houses on the hill rely on a tank filled by lorry, which changes the fill plan; we can fill from the mains in two to three hours or coordinate with your water delivery. Power is generally adequate for a Premium spa, but the line from the cuadro to a lower terrace often exceeds 15 m.
