Footprint to scale
Top view at true proportions, seats and loungers marked. Allow 60 cm of clear space on at least one side for servicing, and a path at least 160 cm wide on delivery day, because the tub travels on its side.
Who it's for
The Nedar 5.2 is for households where at least one person wants to train. The extra lane over the 4.3 is the difference between swimming comfortably and clipping the end wall on a long stroke. It suits a villa garden in an urbanisation, a finca courtyard or a large roof terrace that has been checked for load. You need a footprint of about 6.5 by 3.5 m once you allow for the steps and access to the equipment side.
It is a Premium series unit with two swim pumps, two massage pumps, a circulation pump, full control from the touchscreen or the app, and a 9 kW heater that brings it back up to temperature quickly after a cool night in the Tramuntana foothills. Running costs are around €90–130 a month in summer and €180–260 in winter at three sessions a week.
Swimming and training
Three swim jets at the far end produce a wide, smooth current rather than a narrow blast. You can set it low for aqua-jogging or recovery sessions and high for interval work. At 5.2 m a 1.85 m swimmer has room for a full catch and kick without touching the wall, and the tether point lets you add resistance bands or a swim harness.
Triathletes train in the sea for most of the year, but January is for the brave. A swim spa at 27 °C keeps the technique sharp through winter. For physiotherapy, the flat non-slip floor and the handrails make it a safe place to walk and stretch in water.
The spa seats
The spa end has five seats: four upright positions and one lounger, with 32 jets fed by two dedicated massage pumps. That means two people can run strong massage programmes while someone else swims, without stealing pressure from the swim jets. The seats are sculpted for shoulders, lower back and calves. The single-zone water means everyone shares one temperature, and most families run it at 28–30 °C.
Installing it in Mallorca
Empty, the Nedar 5.2 weighs 1,800 kg. Full, with 8,200 litres of water and five people, it is close to 11 t spread over about 12 m². That needs a reinforced concrete slab poured for the purpose, not existing paving, and never a terrace that has not been checked by a structural engineer. We arrange the check if you need it.
The power supply is a dedicated 40 A line with its own RCD. On many older properties the contracted supply from the utility is not high enough and has to be raised first. We look at the fuse board on the first visit and tell you before you order.
Delivery is by lorry and a crane is almost always needed. Up to 15 m of reach is usually fine from a villa road. In Sóller, Pollença or the old town of Palma the streets dictate the plan, and we survey the route first. The crane is always quoted separately.
Free-standing on a private plot, you normally need no licence. Sunk into the ground, some councils treat it like a pool. Check with your council or community before choosing a sunken install.
