Hot tubs in Campos and Ses Salines

The plain between Campos and Ses Salines is the flattest, most open ground on the island, farmed in straight lines with fincas set back from agricultural lanes. Access is as easy as it gets, and the spas we fit here tend to be large.

Delivery notes for Campos & Ses Salines

Agricultural lanes around Campos and Ses Salines are wide enough for a tractor and therefore for our lorry, and finca gates open onto yards where we park next to the terrace. The one caution is unmade tracks after heavy rain, when a loaded 7.5 t lorry can sink, so we move a delivery by a day if the autumn storms have been through. Sa Colònia de Sant Jordi has level streets and standard access, and Es Trenc chalets have sandy drives that are fine in a dry week.

Open ground, big terraces

Fincas on this plain have terraces built for long lunches, and the spa goes in beside a pool or on its own slab with the fields behind. The round Rodona 6 sells well, six seats around a social layout, and the Serra 6 for families who want loungers. Swim spas are a natural fit out here and the Nedar 5.2 is the usual choice, set on a slab we pour a week ahead; a swim spa full weighs over 10 t and a yard surface will not do.

Sun

There is no shade on the Campos plain. The cover and cabinet take full sun from dawn to dusk, and a cover left uncovered will degrade in a couple of summers. We specify the UV-stable finish and suggest a pergola from 3,200 euros, which turns the spa corner into somewhere you can sit at midday in July.

Well water and salt flats

Nearly every finca is on a well, and wells toward Ses Salines and Sa Colònia run brackish in dry years because of the salt flats and seawater intrusion. Brackish fill water corrodes heaters. We test the well before quoting, and where the chloride is high we recommend filling from a water lorry, which is a few hours and a modest cost against a heater element.

Wind

The migjorn crosses the plain unobstructed. Covers are strapped at four corners and the cover lifter is close to standard here.

Winter use

Campos nights in January are the coldest on the lowland, with frost most weeks, and the spa gets real use from owners who live here all year. Insulation matters more than on the coast, and the Premium and Signature series earn their price in winter electricity.

Installation

A finca install is a morning. The commonest extras are the slab at 85 to 110 euros per square metre and a buried electrical line from the house to a terrace 20 or 30 m away, 850 to 1,200 euros. Nobody needs a crane out here.
